Exam Day Information

Information obtained from sources other than credentialing certification department personnel or the CI-CPT Candidate Handbook may not be reliable. Policies and procedures apply that are specific to the CI-CPT exam and to certification administration.

Items Required for Entry to the Exam (No exceptions are allowed.)

Government-issued photo identification (with birthdate)
Current valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (see CI-CPT Candidate Handbook for accepted CPR certifications)
All items needed to complete the exam are provided by The Cooper Institute.

If the exam is a Morning Session:

Check-in is at 8:15 a.m.
Exam Start Time is 9:00 a.m.
You must be checked-in and ready to enter the exam room prior to 9:00 a.m.
You may not enter the exam room after 9:00 a.m.

If the exam is an Afternoon Session:

Check-in is at 12:45 p.m.
Exam Start Time is 1:30 p.m.
You must be checked-in and ready to enter the exam room prior to 1:30 p.m.
You may not enter the exam room after 1:30 p.m.

Bathroom Breaks
No restroom breaks are allowed during testing without written proof of medical necessity from a healthcare provider.

Transfers and Cancellations
You are allowed up to two transfers from the original exam date without penalty. A transfer fee of $35 is applied to each transfer request thereafter.

You may cancel your exam date. A cancellation fee of $35 is applied.

Certification registrants are responsible for notifying The Cooper Institute of their intent to transfer or cancel registration.
